Sometimes it's the little things that make me happy. [More:]

The weather in Essex is still beautifully spring-like, so I was able to dry my laundry outside on the line. My bedlinen smells wonderful. I can't wait for bedtime!

I'm loving my voice-activated dictation software. I blitzed through my work today.

And I finally - finally - got my car radio working again. When I had a new battery installed the other week, it wiped the radio code. No problem, I thought, I have the manual Ford gave me with the keycode.

The Ford keycode did not work. Ok. I don't recall ever changing it in the 10 years since I've had the car, but if I had it would only be one of four possible numbers. None of those worked either. Oh poo.

Before I bought my car, it was for the first six months of its life a Ford fleet car (there's a big Ford plant in Dagenham, and I bought it from their main dealership there). So I suspect what happened is that when it was put on the forecourt, they grabbed any old user's manual for that model of Ford off the shelf, not realising (or caring) that the Audio Guide would have the wrong keycode in it.

But the internet is a wonderful thing. Through eBay I bought two little u-shaped things to extract the radio, found the right serial number and was able to get the code off the net. Cost me £1.49, cheaper than the new radio I thought I might have to buy.

So now I have music again. Music! Instead of the voices in my head!

I've been to the supermarket and have lovely food for dinner, and for the next few days.

And 'Project Catwalk' (UK version of 'Runway') is on tonight! Yaaay!

What's good in your world, bunnies?
I love gratitude-y threads on Metachat. They make me happy.

I saw a great movie last night: Persepolis. I highly recommend it.

Yesterday, my boss told me that I have been doing an outstanding job. Of course, he said this to reassure me after I screwed something up royally, but nevertheless.

I DON'T have a headache today (knock on wood). Usually weather like this gives me a terrible headache.

It took two and a half hours, but I made it home from work in the snow last night unscathed!

The soup I made for dinner last night made me very happy. All warming and chickeny and gingery. And of course, my secret ingredient - buttloads of sweet chili sauce.

I made this last night, thanks to Ambrosia Voyeur's AskMe cauliflower thread, and it was scrumpdiddlyicious. Cauliflower has now gone from being my least favorite veggie to the top of the list. Love.

Make it. You can skip the garlic anchovy bit... the main thing is the oven roasting -over roasting, really- of the cauliflower that makes it heavenly.

My exam was postponed by SNOW! I feel in some small part responsible for our cancelled classes; I studied assiduously last night, knowing that if I assumed we'd have a snow cancellation and didn't learn my stuff, we would most certainly have class.

So, by studying, I made it snow. You're welcome.

Also, I checked on my mom (who had surgery last week) before the snow started falling yesterday, stocked her fridge, and saw that she was doing well. So that's good.

What else? Who needs more? I made baba ghanoush and hummus last night, we have garlic rolls to put it on, and I get to spend the whole day in jammies. I even bought chocolate chips, so I can make cookies if need be.

Happy!

The sun was out for the last few days,
I had my annual performance review today which went brilliantly,
I spent some time back home in Ireland this last week,
caught up with good friends and family,
got 2 (two!) early valentines,
appreciating my blessings rather than counting them.

It's ages since I felt as content as I do today!
Hugs to all the bunnies! (thanks for starting this Ej)

Even though my hard drive on one of my Apples kicked the bucket (bad!) I was able to use my appointment at the Apple Store tonight to get out of a work dinner I don't want to go to (good!).

As of yesterday, I have two much-needed freelance jobs in the next couple weeks.

Spending V-day with someone nice. (Need to kick the PMS between now and then so that I don't grumble and grouch the whole time.)

I have two baby heads of cauliflower from the Farmer's Market and tonight I will roast them!

The weather has been very nice, although today it's windy as hell so I might not spend much time outside.
