Autograph Book I found a 1941 autograph book on eBay and bought it for an exhibit on school. It has some great rhymes in it...[More:]

Dear Marvin:
If I was a head of lettuce
And could cut myself in two
I'd give my leaves to all my friends
And save my heart for you.

Dear Marvin,
When evening lifts its curtains
And pins it with a star,
Remember you have a friend
Whether you are near or far.
Your English classmate, Bubbles

Dear Marvin,
When you are old
And cannot see
Put on your specs
And think of me.
Your classmate, Beatrice

Dear Marvin,
Down by a dock,
On a little rock,
Are the little words
Forget Me Not.
-Helen

Trust Little,
Love Few,
Always paddle
Your own canoe
-Rosemary

As sunrise lifts night's heavy veil,
And all vessels of war set out to sail
Think of how lucky we are to be
In this wonderous land of the noble free.
I wrote this so don't copy it and give it Miss Ames as your poem.
-Shirley
Wonderful!

I have my great-grandmother Swan's autograph album from the 1880s. The handwriting samples alone are worth seeing. The rhymes are also interesting, and then there are some antique stickers in it. Pretty cool.

I also have a family autograph book. There are signatures from the late 20's, a couple older than that, several from the 30's, on up to the 60's. There are lots of blank pages; I'd like to find a great poem and a calligraphy pen, and add a classy touch.
