Just now I noticed this TV series called "Women Behind Bars" on the guide as I was flipping channels. I read it as "Women Behind Bras" and, just for a moment I was very, very happy. Have you watched any drivel tonight? [More:]

In other news, I just watched an episode of Coupling I've already seen five or six times. I laughed again. Brilliant.
I'll probably watch an episode of Babylon 5, as I'm getting them all in proper sequence from the online dvd rental service.
Unfortunately there's no Women Behind Bras in sight here. *Le sigh.*

Sorry, I guess maybe I was vague as to why I was exited to see "Woman Behind Bras": I recokoned it was some kind of exposé.

i just saw Barbara Walters quoting her grandmother who said she was a virgin on her deathbed.
"You have seven children; how could you be a virgin? You had to have had sex at least seven times."
"I never participated."

i found this horrifying.

Oo, Zack, B-5 is GREAT! You won't be disappointed. Incredible cast, cool writing, and a project beyond ambitious with that much continuity and forethought and a plot that stretches over so many seasons. It's really an incredible achievement. I think Harlan Ellison consulted on it, and I can see why he would. J Michael Straczynski, having much fun doing comics since, created B-5 and wrote most of the episodes, of course.

Seriously, GREAT performances, especially by Andreas Katsulas, Mira Furlan, Peter Jurasik... and that's neglecting the obvious, such as Billy Mumi, Claudia Christian, Jerry Doyle, and of course Bruce Boxleitner and the improbable Jeff Conaway (of former Taxi fame.) GREAT stuff. I envy you, seeing it comprehensively and for the first time.

In other news, Zack, do some more cool art so we can see it, eh?

"I never participated."

LOL!

No, wait, that is horrifying.

"I never participated."

ugh. ('Well, I have to fulfill the marital contract and the biological imperative, so just lie back and think of England.')"Pull up the sheets when you're done, dear."
Yeah, no.

Oog, how could I forget the legendary Patricia Tallman in B-5? A veteran of Night of the Living Dead and Army of Darkness, to say the least. UNforgiveable.

Shane - you're preaching to the converted here... I've seen about 60% of the episodes (but not in a strict order), and it's exactly what I want from a story and fulfills Alan Moore's comment that in order for characters to pass into legend there must be an end to the tale (tangential link to a MeFi post I made about that here.) There are many shows I haven't seen, and I want to do the whole thing in order. I saw them years ago, and have forgotten most of it except for the high points...

Delenn: This is Ambassador Delenn of the Minbari. Babylon 5 is under our protection. Withdraw…or be destroyed!
Drake: Negative. We have authority here. Do not force us to engage your ship.
Delenn: Why not? Only one human captain has ever survived battle with the Minbari fleet. He is behind me. You are in front of me. If you value your lives, be. somewhere. else.

Cool art? Hey thanks! I'm thinking about getting a scanner to scan some of my collages. I'm sure they'll get up on flickr eventually.

Oh, and I'm at the start of season 4, where it all gets *hot*. Jerry Doyle is Bruce Willis' separated-at-birth brother, right? right?
Patricia Tallman as the Vorlon's ace-up-the-sleeve. Hawt and deadly.

I didn't watch any drivel tonight but I am waiting for the 25th anniversary DVD of Prisoner Cell block H I bought on Ebay.

I have Mystery! (PBS -- yes, I am turning into my mother) on Tivo. Just got home, yay Tivo!

B5 Talk? How could you forget Stephen Furst as Vir Cotto? One of the characters who developed the most over 5 seasons... (next to the late great Andreas K. as G'Kar).

And shout outs to Captain Sinclair, Zathras and that nasty old ex-Trekker Bester.
