So my hair seems to be one big dreadlock. And I want it fixed. I want the dread cut off and whatever is left to be styled. Hasn't been washed for a month, smells fine tho.→[More:]
Should I just go and tell this to a good hair dresser such as one on the street, or go to a specialty hairdresser? I'm happy to pay more if necessary. Should I wash and dry the felty dreadlock before going?
Note: This started out as a depression related thing but then I just wanted to see if I could grow some cool dreads and then tidy them up so I could be on of those dreads with a business suit types. Now I just want some normal hair so I can get about my soon to be sort of high profile biznass.
I'm the last person to advise on hairdressers, having not been to one in over 10 years - but I would say let them wash, etc. - they'll probably do it anyway, and they can apply the nice conditioners, etc. If you had a style you were already happy with, and just want a trim up, then you could wash it yourself and skip the extra charge, but since it's going to be a whole new 'do why not let them take full charge?
Well I just got my nerve up to go to the posh hairdresser on my street and they said they can't help. It was embarrassing and I am a bit angry. Now I will try some other hairdressers by phone.
How badly dredded is it, grace? If it's not totally matted all the way through yet, find a friend, a comb, a bottle of conditioner and an hour or two and you'll be right (although the hair will be brittle and break easily afterwards - speaking from experience).
Otherwise - why wouldn't the hairdresser help? If you just wanted to cut it off and get the rest styled, it seems weird that they wouldn't take you.
Can you guys help me with a web search? I'm trying to find Angel Hair Salon on queen margaret drive glasgow's phone number. I keep finding one on Baileston drive. and I called them and it's a differet salon altogether and they don't have the other angel's number.
£10 via paypal to the finder. Sorry to be crass, I just need this done by tomorrow night and I am probably being a big brusque and abrupt and I am very sorry about that.
I googled "queen margaret dr" glasgow angel. The second result is a Thomson Local page. Trying street-name abbreviations like St, Dr, Rd, Ave etc often works. It took literally ten seconds though, so don't worry about Paypal or anything.
I'm glad they've been tracked down and I hope they can help. BUT if they can't, goo's suggestion seems to be the best. I know jessamyn undid her dreads a couple three years ago. You might want to email her and see if she has any suggestions.
I'm at the hairdresser tomorrow, just for a tidy-up. And a good gossip with my lovely Richard about American Idol, Project Runway, The Barefoot Contessa and Britain's Next Top Model. He's adorable and really funny. And a great hairdresser too.
