Mr. V and I were coming back from his brother's house this past Sunday. Ahead of us was a small four-door car. It pulled over by a common fishing hole, and a 12-year-old boy got out of the drivers' side!!! His father got out of the passenger side, and they changed places. Boggled my mind.
The comments on youtube are scarier than anything this kid will ever do.
Half the MeFi comments are a bit depressing as well. I suppose that's better than "scary," but still.

Were you out in farm country, by any chance? On many farms, kids learn to drive around that age out of necessity. Help running things and so forth. I knew a couple of guys back in Missouri who were excellent drivers by age 14 because they'd been driving the farm pickup to help shuffle equipment from here to there. County sheriff looks the other way, etc.
