Self-Serving Post in which I ask NYC mechazens if they could do me a big favour. Look inside for asky details...[More:] There is a dude in Franklin Square (which he says, is in Nassau County on Long Island) who has 4 wheel covers that would fit my VW. He's selling them for 25 bucks, via craigslist. But...he says pickup only.

They aren't fancy, but I've lost 3 of my 4 wheel covers over the last winter due to lousy roads, etc. and to replace them, they are often priced at more than 25 bucks EACH. So, I sure like this fella's price.

I have no idea what it would cost anyone to get out there, pick them up, and then ship them to me, but I'd be MORE than happy to reimburse via paypal, and name my next child after said picker-upper.

in the spirit of full disclosure, I have had a vasectomy, so the whole naming-my-next-child thing is not likely to happen.

Anyone willing to help a Canadian brother out? Please note, I won't consider silence an offence.
We have no one out in LonGuyland? i am surprised, nay, shocked. Shocked, i say.
i wish i knew someone still left out there.

It's funny. I just finished watching Children of Men, and your comment sorta made me see Long Island as this quasi-futuristic refugee camp affair...I'm pretty sure that's not too accurate!

Long Island is really quite far from NYC to anyone who doesn't own a car. To go via public transit would take hours and hours. Maybe you could bribe the guy to mail them?

Thanks for the context TPS. Maybe I'll offer this fella TWICE his asking price! Heh heh.

This is something you could get a man with a van for on Craigslist.
