as for fire, we're barbecuing the fish and whatever else folks bring, but I think it's too hot for a fireplace fire. And none of that lighting-a-cake-on-fire jazz like my friends pulled in 8th grade this time, I hope.

Where are you now? You should register for half joking half possible household needs, like crazy big motorized lighted kaleidescoping disco ball and trash bins, groceries and studded ottomans.

Sounds like a smashing party! I have a few incredibly simply guidelines for parties:

- have lemons. More than you think you'll need.
- have ice. More than you think you'll need. (I often freeze big chunks of ice, which melt a lot slower than cubes in a drink-chilling tub of icy water.)
- have toilet paper, more than you think you'll need (as chewie has pointed out).
- serve something sweet.

Is there something the new house needs? Something fun people could bring? Asking friends to bring fridge magnets or mugs could be fun. Or ask people to bring plants if you have a garden. New house - Yay!! Have fun.
