A small update: there's a poll in the bottom right hand corner too. (Any and all feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks!)
feedback: You are a good writer with a compelling story to tell. You're one of the best translators of non-Western things to Western people evar. Moar pls.
I voted "perplexing." I know I could look this up, but was India a distinct "nation" before the Brits got there, or a loosely affiliated group of kingdoms, or what?
(me too on the toning down, btw. Or else go whole hog and make it BRIGHT! But then it'll look girly, maybe? I LOVE bright Indian color combos. I credit Bollywood for finally making it okay here to wear pink and orange and safron together.)
I'm thinking I'll scrap the header as was mentioned above and keep all the colourful stuff for the side bar.
And, yeah--I should've added an extra "chose your own option" button on the poll. Sorry. I could go and correct that now but it wouldn't be fair to the people who already voted.
Anyways, I'm looking forward to what you guys think:)
I said 'cultural', but I'd have put 'fascinating' if I'd had the choice. One of my favorite pastimes is seeking out the small differences I see in different cultures, and I've not been to India. I can spend hours in a foreign grocery store, for example, and your FPP about the red-staining chewing tobacco-like sandwiches with coconuts and cherries on top made my day that day. Now I have a very good friend (in addition to you, hadjiboy!) who is American but also Indian and quite profusely so. So I'm mining both of you for more fascinating tidbits.
