I guess that this would be, like, a bunny request because bunnies are the thing at MeCha and ponies are the thing at MeTa and this is a feature request sort of deal but bunny request sounds weird so I'm going to stick with pony request after all.→[More:]Also, I'm doing it here instead of via email because if everyone thinks it would be a dumb idea I'd rather just forget it, I guess. Also, sorry if this has been asked and answered like eleventymillion times OK OK SO HERE IT IS:

Wouldn't it be extra super helpful to have a "Recent AskMe posts by Metachat users" sidebar in addition to the "Recent MeFi posts by Metachat users" sidebar?

That's, uh...that's pretty much it.

Yeah, that's true. Sometimes the "I made a post to AskMe, please look at it" posts here seem a bit silly, so maybe an AskMe sidebar would be worthwhile.

matthewr: see, that's exactly what made me think of it. I posted something to AskMe and briefly considered coming here to be all like, "I posted something to AskMe," but that didn't feel right.

"Contacts" on MeFi are really great for that. I'd rather not make it a MetaChat thing, unless it's opt-in.

Could it be integrated within the current section that lists MeFi posts? I imagine it would not be overly complicated to alter the existing code to include all of the MeFi Universe, right? I'm talking out my arse here, but that sounds like a reasonable idea to me.

Couldn't whatever trawls the blue do it to for green as well? If they were all integrated in the existing space it'd be nice.

Admins? Have any of you happened to pop in here? Thoughts? I promise not to get my feelings hurt if this gets shot down. I can envision a couple of downsides, but it seems like it could be a cool thing.
