Ask MeCha: (UK version) Is anyone else having problems viewing embedded media on the BBC News website?→[More:]

The BBC recently moved to an embedded Adobe Flash media player on its news website. I'm finding that when I click on a link in Firefox, I get the 'end screen', as if I've already watched the video. Clicking the 'play' button, or anywhere else in the player for that matter, does nothing.

Googling tells me that this is the same media player that CNN uses. Embedded video on the CNN site plays perfectly in Firefox.

I can also play the embedded media from the BBC if I use IE. But in Firefox it just will not work. Reporting the problem to the BBC gets no response.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Adobe Flash plugin. I have javascript, cookies, and Flashblock all granting permission to this site.

Any ideas?
