Are there any fellowship directories out there? I found a couple of fellowships that are interesting - Pop!Tech and YouthActionNet. I've also heard of Ashoka, Echoing Green, and Sauve Scholars.

Is there a directory of fellowship-type things along those lines - not very academic, but meant to support learning for social good? My GoogleFu isn't helping.
I don't think you'll find a comprehensive directory. You're probably ahead of the game with your list so far. You might want to check out Soros-funded fellowships.

(BTW, I was an e-g fellow way back when.)

Also -- stating the obvious -- university career services offices usually get information about fellowships.

divabat, I've just got to say, and maybe I've mentioned this already, but you're really inspiring in trying to fulfill your dreams and do what you want with your life, despite the hurdles.

Rock on Girl!

(That's basically my contribution to the whole discussion on Fellowship Directories, not even quite too sure what that means [is fellowship like an internship *consults dictionary*--okay, still not sure what that means, but anyway--I hope you have good luck with it.):)

Claudia_SF: Oooh, how was that like? What project was it for? I bought Be Bold and was quite inspired by the projects featured in there. I wanted to apply, but they needed me to have a year free to work on my project full-time. Maybe later.

I looked at the Soros list and the Open Society Foundation looks quite interesting - they have a project suggestion for getting youth involved in social change, which could be good.

hadjiboy: Yeah, it is a bit of a hard thing to define, which makes it hard to search for. The ones I'm looking towards tend to be more those that have a side project (like the one-week conference or etc) but give you plenty of freedom to do your thing.

The ones I found ask you for a specific project to fund - but since my current project only needs very little money (web hosting mainly), I'm not sure it qualifies. Perhaps in a year or two, when I have a more developed plan (besides my constant "ooo this sounds interesting!!!" tangents...)

There are a couple of fellowships mentioned on the front page of MetaF today -- did you see? The Draper Richards fellowship, and the Rainer Arnhold fellowship. I'd never heard of either one.

I did an echoing green on the employment rights of people with psychiatric conditions.
