I cannot share your joy in the white stuff. We had it on the ground here in the Chicago suburbs from December through the end of March. Yesterday it went up to 62 degrees and there are still ugly black piles of it where it was plowed. If it's a novelty for you then it's fun. It lost its charm for me quite some time ago.
Why not make a snowball or two and stick it in your freezer, to bring out in July - I used to do that as a kid. My mom was remarkably tolerant. Store in a plastic zip top bag.
I am making up for having just run 11 miles in falling snow, having some fuckwad teen aiming snowballs at me and a 4×4 drenching me in ice-cold water by having a rather large mug of Green And Blacks hot chocolate.
i like how everyone there on my flickr posted snow.
F, you have to set us up with a live cam to watch the marathon and your bloody nipples.
i've been carbo loading for you, so you better run all this pasta off me.
We've had quite enough of it in Toronto this year, so I am happy to see the sun these last few days! I am not that happy to see the gross untended mush that is my front lawn that has been under the snow. Mushy.
We really had no snow to speak of this winter. Maybe only once did the trucks have to come around, and even then it was just to spread sand and not even plow. I miss snow.
But yesterday was around 60 degrees, sunny, pleasant. My hyacinths are blooming, my daffodils are waving in the breeze, and my flower garden is growing fast. I'm in a welcoming spring mode.
Mmmm, pasta. I ate too much pasta last night. The coming week is going to be carb-city. After that I'll be in mourning for bread, pasta, rice, potatoes and more. *sigh* I won't miss the bloody nipples, though. Even if they don't bleed, in this weather they still hurt in the shower after a long run.
This is a photo of my parents' garden. The setting sun somehow highlighted certain trees, giving them an orange tinge:
Sisi, Claire and I got up at 7am to have a snowball fight in the grounds of the Health Centre up the road. We took black rubbish bags to do some culoSki. Fantastic way to start the day. (But all I'm posting here is the sedate view of the deck.)
SNOW! Whooo-hoo!
