Serioiusly? Mind altering. Like, "post-orgasmic no longer functioning" good. Oh my god. Find this chocolate. Then consume it with bourbon. Preferably after consuming a rare steak and broccoli rabe and potatoes and a really nice shiraz.[More:] Seriously. It's the most perfect chocolate ever.

EVAR.
It's so good I lose the ability to spell, apparently.

"Seriously." See? I can do it. I just choose not to.

Hee! We were in a shop looking for something to give our neighbors at Christmas and were offered a sample of some amazing French truffles (something like this, each about thumbnail size - if you're thumbnail is not very big) that were so incredible we immediately bought the ridiculously overpriced box of, maybe, six of them ... and guess what? We ate them. Hahaha! No inexpressibly delicious, stupidly expensive truffles for you, neighbors!

I felt a little bad, but only a little. How else were we supposed to get them? We'd never spend that much on truffles for ourselves, so we had to fool us.

I think I've seen this in our Asian/organic market. I will have to grab one next time I'm there.

Oh god, that looks good, occhiblu. I've seen Dagobah chocolate around - I'll have to hunt some down. MmmMMmmMmmmmmm.... *drooldrooldrool*

And taz: totally know what you mean. Charbonnel & Walker Pink Marc Champagne truffles trump huge bribes and threats of violence for me anytime.

Yum, that looks delicious. Raspberry and chocolate is one of my favourite flavour combinations anyway, and rose would be a great addition.

Alchemy Love cordial (rose petal and lime) is one of my alltime favourite things, in a big cup with vodka and soda water and lots of ice and a lime twist.

There is a New Yorker Article (October 29 of last year) but my archival digging skills have yet to reach the text of the article.

It was sort of a "Burts Bees" story, as I remember it. . a couple getting together with a dream, and one of them continuing on once the breakup happens. . .

We have two seriously good chocolates in Eugene. . .since I am going to be more of less commuting to SF due to daughter in school, maybe a bit if Oregon chocolate would entice you to a meetup sometime, for a blind taste test. .

Oh! Yay! I'm pretty sure they sell that at the little produce/organic stuff store here! I've been debating it--love the good chocolate, can't justify spending so much--but now I have a justification: occhiblu says so!

danf, I would love a meet-up, chocolate or no.

Though I'd prefer it with chocolate, I would have to admit.

goo, those cordials look yummy. I've never seen them around here, but the site says they're sold in the US -- I'll have to look harder.

Hee. And yay! Good chocolate for all!

That made me snort pretty hard --- it's so true for me, as well.

Yum. Chocolate + any fruit = yum, in my book.

My first reaction when i saw this was to get one.
The combination sounds great, all very rich and perfumey.

Oh noes, you didn't drink the really nice shiraz?!

(Did we have really nice shiraz? I didn't know.)

Not the really really nice shiraz. The Tolosa syrah. Yum yum yum.
posted by occhiblu 06 April | 19:46
And, uh, no, I don't think we actually have really really nice shiraz. Which made it easier not to drink it.

Tolosa syrah. I see; duly noted.

Mmmm, gonna look for some tomorrow.
