He's the highlander.

He kinda looks like Treat Williams.

I haven't seen Treat Williams in a couple of decades so I'm not sure.

Who the hell names their kid Treat?

"Hi, I'm Treat Williams, and this is my sister, Snack."

I always wanted Treat Williams and Judge Reinhold to be in a movie together, just for LULZ.

Then again what kind of a name is "Pierce"? "And this is my sister "Dent"...

I could see Pierce being a family name, so I give that a pass. But yeah, Judge Reinhold, Sargent Shriver...

He reminds me a bit of Clark Gable.

I love that site. The only thing about it that makes me cringe is the colophon at the bottom: "Shorpy is powered by Microsoft Windows Vista, Dell Precision workstations, Intel Core 2 Extreme quad-core processors, Adobe Photoshop CS3, Eizo ColorEdge video displays, and mug after steaming mug of Taster's Choice."

I guess pretty people married each other back then too.

Pierce is a pretty normal middle class name for a kid in Ireland. I know three.
It comes from the Irish name Piaras, which is pronounced more or less the same as the English.

Lots of examples here.

it's no longer popular to use the Sassanach spelling though, there's an element of pride in using the Irish spelling. However, in the case of Pierce Brosnan, around the time he was born, priests would routinely refuse to baptise infants if the name had no English translation/spelling option. Most Seans in their 50s would have a birth certificate saying John.

so nothing to do with the verb in English "to pierce".

That is a great photo.

Claudia--that's what I thought, too!

Yeah, me too. He in particular is a stunningly handsome guy with movie star looks. She's pretty too, but in a more subdued way (or maybe it's just cuz she's a little out of focus). She has nice gams. ;-)
