The Persuasions - Looking For An Echo. [More:] These fellows from Brooklyn were one of thousands of aging doo-woppers and seemed to be relegated to obscurity until Frank Zappa (a major league doo-wop buff) got them a record contract. Their first album featured this fantastic musical autobiography/ode to street singing. Enjoy.
I saw, like 4 out of the 6 nights of one of their engagements in the Ash Grove, in LA once . . .I love the Persuasions. . .

Thanks for the song, jonmc. I've been in a doo-wop mood.

Here's another Persuasions song, from a Brecht/Weill tribute album:

Can anyone recommend a good box-set of lesser-known Doo Wop stuff? I'm okay with some hits too, of course.
