26 March 2008

I am just so upset I just started my new job, and it's fine. The people are great, and I think I will be successful, although my training is going too slowly ( I did mention this). But it's just not my old job, which I loved and lost in Jan. I miss the people, I miss the office, I miss the work, I even miss the doorman. I walked by the old office and cried. For chrissakes. It was just a job.
Ok. There was also a boy at the old job, and we never decided what we were to be to each other, more than friends etc, and did nothing about it while working together obviously, and we still talk and are still friends but it's not like seeing the boy every day and I miss that too.

ouch.
For chrissakes, that sucks.

Chin up though diving into the new job and plowing.
As for the boy, then call him up and...get together for a coffee and catch up and see if you feel the same way, but more importantly, what's his reason for not taking a step in your direction... [big pause...]
then invite him over to your place for a cocktail...or sweets, cookies and milk, or not, whaddayahsay.

What looks like shit now, may be a blessing in disguise, which you may notice after some time...

All the best in the New Job.//
Maybe, new crush. :)

Mourning is something we do for more occasions that the death of a dear one. Any change forced upon us that we would not have chosen can result in morning.

That is a bummer, sweetkid. Chances are you'll meet some more cute people and like alicessshoe says, probably a new crush.

I went through this too, sweetkid. In my case, I went from a large urban university to a smaller suburban college in the middle of farmland. My new position is much better for me career-wise as it's a professional job with varied responsibilities and more autonomy, but I definitely feel bereft of a lot of things I used to enjoy: highly creative coworkers, taking public transportation (I know, this sounds really weird), walking to restaurants for lunch, reveling in the unique culture of that campus community. On the other hand, it made me see how much I relied on my coworkers for my social life (both at the office and after-hours), and this forced me to find other diversions and to fix a stricter boundary between my work and home lives.
