SMTP works in Mail.app and not in Thunderbird Please how do I get it to work?
In what way does it not work?

The thunderbird SMTP settings can be hard to find.

To set up Thunderbird (or SeaMonkey) to use authentication with your SMTP server:

Go to "Tools -> Account Settings -> Outgoing Server (SMTP)".

Select the server and press the Edit... button.
Check the "Use name and password" option.
Add your username.
Click "OK".

Thunderbird will ask you for your password the first time you send email and you can optionally save it at that time.

It was a weird protocol thing as in Mail didn't want to take the @ symbol so I had to use a + instead - but Thunderbird insisted on the @.

Yay working t-bird = decent HTML mail support, unlike Mac Mail!
