OMG! BUNNY! (also ASCII jesus). Happy Sunday in whatever form it's taking for you.[More:]For me it is still-in-pj's catching up on email and eating leftovers after dinner for ten (plus three little ones) last night. Not exactly a hangover today but just ... wow did I talk to people for like eight straight hours?
Today i wish i had a serving platter to take a cliché food pic.
The lamb is braising, the roasted asparagus is waiting, the other vegetables are all peeled and shiny and photogenic.
There are peeps and jordan almonds everywhere, eggs waiting in white and a birthday kitty who is a vision in pale pink floof and ribbon (but i promised her no annoying flash photography on her birthday but you know there are pictures in the fututre).
If i was a four year old girl, i would be agog with wonder at what magical tea party was up.
As a thirty six year old, i am having a hard time not going "whee!" while throwing confetti in the air. And that's because i don't want to clean up confetti.

It occurs to me my mother thinks of the Bees as her grandchild and that's just great with me. Even better? She's discovered Michael's and takes me with her and buys me things.
Good god do i love Michael's.
In a few hours when it's just her and me slugging out for the night, i'm gonna let her pick out decorations while we make stuff. She's a lot like having a four year old who lets you dress her and carries googly eyes in her mouth.

Ate and drunk far too much at my parents' place this afternoon. Apart from being fed mini chocolate eggs by my young niece, today has been surprisingly chocolate free.

Now I'm relaxing at home after knocking up a loaf of no time bread and having a hefty sammich made from it. Obviously not from all of it. Next will be a large, strong coffee and Blade Runner on DVD.

Jessamyn's chili was delicious. And the pound cake, with ice cream. *burp*

i worked this morning. turtlegirl went to our neighbour's farm to help with the sheep shearing. We watched football/soccer (our team lost. *sigh*) and then we took naps in the sun. not a bad day.

Alice and colored and decorated eggs yesterday:

Mrs. Plinth turned them into deviled eggs today.

Alice was in her finery for church.

My brass quintet (minus the tuba player who had to work his day job) played the service and sounded good in spite of not rehearsing for several months. We finished with the Stanley Trumpet Voluntary (no, probably not the one you're thinking of - that one's by Clarke), which I usually play on a piccolo trumpet and not a regular Bb horn - worked out OK. Only one or two clams, which is fantastic for someone at my level.

Wife and I went and had some Easter quiche with my parents and our little adorable/hellion niece; now we're playing the HELL out of Smash Brothers and riding the exercise bike and getting ready for some fish and chips at the pub.

Also, go Jesus and whatever.

Plinth: There is just something about a little girl in a pretty dress! Alice looks so cute. Thanks for sharing that photo. It made me happy.

I had my weekly glass of wine with dinner, so that was happy times :) We had minimal-effort-for-delicious food: pot roast, mashed taters, asparagus and carrots. With grapes and cadburys creme eggs for dessert. Our friend S. came over for dinner and we talked SCIENCE! all afternoon and evening. yay!

Morning was brunch with friends - and the antipasti a great success. Then we went to a coffeeshop and I got whupped at Scrabble. Finally, chicken tostadas and chocolate bunnies at home.

We visited Science Mom (briefly - we were there mostly to pick up Science Girl's jacket which she'd left there last week), shopped for groceries, picked up some dog food and treats and a toy, bought some magazines for me, and then came home and enjoyed some lovely ham and scalloped potatoes (from scratch, mind you) and steamed broccoli with a nice bottle of Alicante Bouschet I picked up while in CA. Now SG and Lucy are in bed, and I'm down here putzing around until I can go to bed too.
