McCain couldn't do it, Bush wouldn't, Cheney would shoot the dog... the only other political icon that joke MIGHT work for is Schwarzenegger (and Al Gore has appeared in the strip, but he wasn't helping the animals, he was lecturing them for their carbon footprints - which was probably even funnier if you don't like Al).

One non-political celeb they could've used was Oprah, but I think she made a cameo in "Hedge" before too... but who else in our culture today could pass as a fixer/miracle-worker? Everyone else is famous for causing or getting into trouble.
