In which we all discuss our favorite parts of the movie "Hot Fuzz" ***SPOILERS!*** →[More:]

I just saw it for the first time last night and it's now one of my favo(u)rite movies of the last ten years.

Personal highlights:

- the awesomely-decked-out police cruiser at the very end
- breaking the fourth wall during the supermarket standoff ("did you tell him to cool off?")
- the Romeo and Juliet scene

The perfect progression of famous actors playing Simon Pegg's superiors. My wife and I chuckled at the guest appearances by Martin Freeman and Steve Coogan, but we screamed when it ended with Bill Nighy, because Bill Nighy is in EVERY big British movie and you just know that Pegg and Wright were playing off of that.

I gurgled with laughter at the interpretation scene.
(in a former life I was an interpreter/translator)
The scene where the policemen talk to a farmer, which then has to be interpreted by the old policeman, understood by Danny and then re-intepreted to Nicholas Angel.....

that and the one where Nicolas Angel tries to talk to his ex-GF while she and her colleagues are doing a crime scene....

I think I'm about to watch it again

And I don't think they're breaking the fourth wall when Danny asks Nick about the "cool off" quip. It's all meta-commentary while in character.

Loved the movie, but I think Sean of the Dead was better.

The bit at the end with Timothy Dalton saying, "Thiss reawwy hurthss."

"yarp" and "narp" cracked me up too.

"An infestation of hoodies" was probably the best line in the whole thing.

I loved the notebook scene (with cops & robbers animation) and the tooling up at the end. Mostly I enjoyed Angel's pretty constant "You've GOT to be shitting me!" expression throughout the movie.
