Pugs are cute. And rather sweet and well-tempered. A disrespected dog, like the dauchund, which is of a similar temprament and on a like side of the meter on the freakishness scale.

If I had to choose, I'd choose a dauchund, though. Lack of breathing problems, a little sweeter disposition.

Not as dress-up-able, possibly, if that's what you're into.

They're sweet dogs, daschunds! I've done some kennel work and I always loved to see one - very cooperative and sweet. They can tend towards fat, but generally have a long happy doggie petty life.
