Dickendall's Better Finnish - Dec 10 1991 - Feb 27 2008 Our beloved yellow lab was unable to fight off an infection that was a side effect of the chemo we started her on a week prior, so we decided to let her go to a peaceful and comfortable place.

She was a pretty special pooch to us; super hairy, stocky build, perpetual tail wag & smile. She was an import from Finland, her official name was where "Betty" came from. Mrs chewie knew the breeder, who offered her Betty.
Betty was a huge part of our lives, and basically the rock of the house, super consistent, laid back and tolerant of all. She sort of anchored all the living creatures in the house.
It was very tough, we could've ended our drought as much as we cried Wednesday and Thursday, but it gets a bit better each day. Our 2 cats and other dog, all rescue creatures, are bumbling along with us as we all try to get our bearings.
We know there will never be another Betty, but there will be another yellow lab in our lives at some point. Mrs chewie has continuously had at least one lab in her life since 1974! They're her passion, and after living with Betty I can totally see why.
I gave Betty as many biscuits and yummies and pats as she wanted during her last week here. I'm sayin' she's zipping around out there, eating pears and bananas, steaks, and as much cat poop as she freaking wants, laying around on couches, and swimming to her heart's content.
She will always have a special place in my heart.
