I kind of like taxidermy. The objects don't creep me out at all, for some reason. Maybe I feel all Hemmingway around them or something.

I can't view a dead body, however, no way, no how.

The tone of this article was kind of OMG Freaks and I don't get why. As the article does say, it's been done for ages.

So a man from Peoria was in Arkansas. He stopped into the the local bar and ordered a merlot. The locals noticed and asked him suspiciously, "You're not from around here are ya?"

He acknowledged that he was, in fact, from Illinios. They questioned him further, eventually asking what he did. He replied, "I'm a taxidermist."

"A taxi...what?"

"A taxidermist."

"What's that?"

"Well, you see, I mount dead animals."

With a great sigh of relief, they all nodded knowingly at the new guy... and one of the regulars said, "It's okay boys! He's one of us!"
