Things like this are why the former chair of the Psychology Dept. here refered to his department as "Where the crazy people are." It seems that psychology and psychiatry attract more than their share of nutbutts.

I read a theory that Buffy's Sunnydale was actually based on Lompoc. A hellmouth would explain a lot.

In northern California it's more Crescent City that has that rep, imo.
