Shitty, crappy, awful morning Got 3 awful bits of news this morning. →[More:]1. My good friend's Mom died this morning. She had cancer, and was dying, and my friend was heading down to MD today anyway, but her Mom died before she got there.
2. Other friend had a miscarriage last week. She was 2 weeks further on than me, and hadn't told anyone that she was pregnant yet. she's really torn up, because they were trying for nearly a year. I still haven't told her that I'm pregnant, and now I'm not going to for a while.
3. Found out husband's favourite uncle in end-stage lung cancer. Palliative care only from now on.

I probably need some whuffles right about now.

That's an awful day. My condolescences. I really feel for your friend whose mom died -- my mom died only three weeks after a cancer diagnosis, but she went into the hospital just as we were going to go visit her and died the next day. Her last words to husband and I were, "You guys go out and enjoy yourselves."

Awww .. I'm so sorry. That's a lot of sadness to absorb all at once.

The pregnancy thing is delicate, isn't it? I've been on both sides - been the person wanting to be pregnant and having to scrounge up some happiness for a friend who got there before me. And in your position - the one with happy news, afraid to share it with someone experiencing a loss. It's tough. Now I'm a little sad.

Yeah, Kangaroo, it is a tricky sitch. Also, there's another friend, my bestest friend from college who is going through endless IVF etc. and she, of all our friends, is the one that has wanted kids for the longest time. haven't told her yet, and feel kind of guilty as we got pregnant first month trying. Illogical of me, but there you go

Sorry, and that always seems the way with people who want kids.
People i knew of were having horrible times trying, from years of nothing to multiple miscarriages, while everyone else was accidentally getting knocked up yet again. It's touchy. In smaller confines of the unavoidable, they'd end up knowing anyway so i just fell to whether they would wanted to be the one to let them know before they found out.
It's odd how people plan things and think things will follow suit, and even odder that sometimes they do.
As often as they don't are the numbers of people who understand.
