If you could have the world’s largest collection of one thing, what would it be?
Hundred dollar bills.

Free time.

Oh, Jesus, I'd have the world's largest collections of a lot of things. Watches, stained glass, 30-year-old scotch, ink pens, just to name four. Maybe I'd have the world's largest collection of collections.

I don't have a big enough house to store the world's biggest collection of anything. (*sigh*)

mgl totally beat me, that's what I was going to say.

My second choice would be floaty pens.

*Gives lleachie the world's largest collection of donut holes*

Take care of them, lleachie - millions of well-meaning diets gave their lives that these might exist.

Comfortable, light shoes. Currently, I have almost zero. The ones I seem to like are expensive.

I'll take the collection of 50 dollars bills seeing as how the 100s are taken.

I wonder if you wouldn't be better off with twenties--I bet there are more of 'em floating around, but maybe not 2.5x as many.

Places to crash.

Read that as "planes". Was all: "huh".

Money and aged scotch and free time are all good, and all taken.

I'm tempted to go with "good ideas", but there's two problem with that:

1. I like a lot of ideas already that I like; I don't pursue more than a handful of them, and I feel bad about that, so the last thing I need is more things to not actually follow through on.

2. I really love a lot of ideas that aren't exactly "good", often for reasons tied inherently to what makes them not so good. Four out of five brainstorms that excite me have some sort of fundamental conceptual flaw, but I'm pretty much okay with that.

So I think I'll go with "driven, joyful episodes of inspiration". I don't really care what I'm working on if I'm having a good time working on it, and my least favorite thing in the world is to be in a funk and unmotivated and incapable of really digging into something and working on it. If there was a "get shit done and feel good about it" pill, I'd consider asking my doctor for a prescription.

Yeah, I've lately been at a point in my life where giving collections away is much more satisfying than collecting them ever was. I'm pretty happy about that, actually.

Places that are all mine (and fully stocked with goodies like clothes, toiletries, stable foodstuffs, booze so that if I want to go to any of them, I don't have to fret about not having a particular something)

tiaras? those globes that are actually little mini-bars? admiring fans? or ... actually ... really soft and beautiful blankets. yes. it would have to be blankets, i think.

Animated Cartoons (from Gertie the Dinosaur to next year's Pixar release, and all the ones made for TV too... preferably on real, high-quality stable film stock in their original format with digitized back-ups on multiple servers in multiple locations with a library recorded on the most stable disk format possible... I don't want to risk losing any Crusader Rabbit or Screwy Squirrel)

If not that, I'd go for plush tigers, plastic flamingos or that rarest of treasure, hats with embroidered writing or pictures that are NOT baseball caps.
