Oh, Great..... [More:]

As if this election wasn't enough of a free-for-all, now this.
Oh, what a shithead.

There was a perfectly good left wing candidate, named Dennis Kucinich, you know. Could have voted for him!

He's useless. I finally decided he's operating out of nothing but ego; I said over on the blue that if he really, actually wanted change for the domestic agenda, he'd fucking run for Senate and DO something about it. Instead he wants to draw a lot of media attention and distract energy from serious candidates. He's a jerk.

Somebody give Ol' Ralphie a Shell credit card and the keys to a Corvair please. Seriously, that dipshit could fuck up a cup of coffee.

Thank god. I wasn't sure who to vote for.

What Miko said. Exactly.

What kills me about this man is that he always keeps the idiots in power with his antics - the Rethuglicans LOVE it when he does this, as it only muddies our waters, not theirs.

A vote for Nader is a vote for the Republicans.

How can anyone in their right mind vote for this man? If this election is so important, why can't he pony up the cash to start with the rest of the pack?

Hell, let's ALL of us run now. Have 2000 Metachat candidates, all saying the same thing Nader is.
But on the Republican ticket.

God, the nominations can't come fast enough.

Also, I don't think a man named 'Ralph,' will ever be electable.

the bitch of it is that I feel like Nader is screwing up whatever positive legacy he could've had in this world. I think his consumer advocacy was important, and I think he raises really salient points about American politics sometimes, but people who weren't alive when Unsafe at Any Speed was published are just going to remember him for being an egomanical dick, the Left's answer to Ron Paul.

Man it would almost seem like Nader isn't too found of America. Isn't widely agreed that all he did the last time he ran was to split the non-republican vote? Thereby weakening the chances for either he or the dem to win?

You gotta wonder about this guy.

jonmc obviously hasn't seen the John Goodman classic, King Ralph. If John Goodman can become king of England then a president called Ralph is fine.
posted by TheDonF 24 February | 15:42
Good GRIEF. I was just coming here to post about this... what an idiot.

Like dismas said, it's a shame he's going to be remembered as the guy who kept Republicans in power in close elections. Argh.

If John Goodman can become king of England

From what I've seen, anybody can become part of the English royalty as long as their parents were first cousins.

My husband LOOOOOVEs that movie.

Bunnyfire: Yeah, but is he president?

No, but he IS involved in politics. Altho I'd rather him stay a Party hack instead of run for stuff. Been there, done that, like to killed me.

German first cousins, obviously.

Chong: Uh, his name is Raaalph, man.

We have a Kevin who just got voted in over here... mainly because Kevin rhymes with "oh seven", so he could capitalise on the date.

For that reason, I was half expecting John Howard to delay the election for so long that it was in January this year - putting a stop to the rhyming name tactic for good.

I met my first Australian who doesn't like Kevin Rudd tonight; apparently he's a yob and a redneck. I totally would have started an argument about it, but my interlocutor was ridiculously hot so I thought better of it.

I want to vomit down the throat of every person whining about Nader. If your candidate is so good, he will win regardless of who else is running.

A vote for Nader is a vote for the Republicans.

Die die die die shitting you partisan bullshit swallowing sack of shit. If you don't like it, get out there and get the vote out. Third, fourth, seventh party candidates have just as much of a right to be heard. This is not an either-or proposition, and an election is not an exercise in game theory. It's real life, with real people and real issues.

This "If you ain't with us, you ag'in us" bullshit is the same thing you all give the Republicans so much shit for, but it's ok for you to do it? Fuck you sideways, you fucking hypocrite.

(nothing personal to anyone in this thread. but seriously, quit it.)
