April 3, 7pm, Union Square B&N: RICHARD PRICE! I will hopefully add to the autograph jacket. Who's with me?
He has wrote for "The Wire" on hbo, which is one of the best shows evah. Love his books too.

alteredcarbon, I've been a fan of Price ever since reading 'The Wanderers,' as a teenager. It'll be all I can do not to erupt into blabbering fanboyism.

Security at the David Foster Wallace reading got a little nervous... I can only imagine Price. ; )

A living legend -- the Zola of contemporary American writers. Excellent choice, giovanni. And as much as I dislike B&N, the Union Square branch is indeed beautiful -- literally the only chain megabookstore I visit whenever I'm in New York. Have fun.

In the blurb of the new book, Russel Banks (a pretty damn good writer himself) calls him a modern day Balzac*. I've never read either Balzac or Zola so I couldn't say.

*whenever I see 'Honore De Balzac,' on the spine of a book, I always think 'Honor Da Ballsack,' which is why I will never be a great writer, although I might have a career in dreaming up porn titles.
