I have so been there.
I've also used the phrase "but they don't KNOW they're wrong. I HAVE TO MAKE THEM KNOW THEY ARE WRONG!"

My roommate took my keyboard away at that point.

You know, a few weeks ago I got into a disagreement with a commenter on another site. We went back and forth a few times, and then I was like, "Look, you're not making any sense, here's the long explanation of why".... and they responded with, more or less, "Huh, you're right. That makes sense, I get it now."

It was highly confusing. I was left feeling slightly unsettled.
