Does this ever happen to you? You discover that some famous person whom you admire and assumed was long dead is, in fact, still very much alive, and it makes you, for some strange reason, extremely happy inside?

This just happened to me with Muhammad Ali.
Well, I have the reverse. When Dale Evans died, I was surprised, thinking she'd long since left this trail.

It actually happens a lot.

What danf describes is a fairly common occurrence for most people for some reason.

The weirdest thing happens to me (in this sense, in every other sense I lead a very normal life). Each time I hear someone refer to Stephen Jay Gould in the past tense, I am surprised. It's like I won't allow myself to believe he's dead.
I keep hoping I'll wake up one day and Stephen Jay Gould will still be alive.

I don't have this problem because I refuse to believe anyone is dead until I see the body.

(Hollywood action movies have made me a survivor.)

I get the reverse... "oh my god, when did so and so die. oh. well, gee..."

Yes, because my husband and I just found out that Jack Klugman is still alive, and, in fact, just got married! So, we're happy to hear he's still with us.

I feel guilty, like I killed them off in my head when the whole time they were alive. This happened to me with Doris Day.

But then I kind of wished ... oh, nevermind.

What is the strongest craving you get? || Creepy or cute?
