Preview of "Where The Wild Things Are" by Spike Jonze. Am I the only one totally creeped out by this?
Apparently the clip got pulled. Screw me.

In answer to your question--'creeped out' isn't exactly the way to say it, but I'm definitely something. It seems like it must be very, very hard to reconcile the focus-grouped, cross-marketed, lowest-common-denominator nature of most childrens entertainment with the desire to pay tribute or make an homage or whatever (see the recent Willy Wonka movie, or the live-action Scooby-Doo remakes). If you're interested in making creative and interesting childrens films, I don't think the US is the place to do it.

I think I've read the book to my boys at least a hundred times. Is the film for kids of all ages or is it scary, creepy, and more geared toward the older kids? Either way is fine, but I would love to bring the boys to see this movie.

I think it's pretty kid-friendly, ya.
