We're sick. And we have non-refundable tickets to some shindig.

[More:]BAM has a dinner and a movie combo, showing "His Girl Friday," which I've really really really been excited about for like a month and a half. And so I bought the tixx, not even caring that much about the dinner thing but not realizing I could buy movie tickets and NOT do the dinner thing that's $60 per person. And now both The Boyfriend and I have got monster cold/coughs and are suddenly feeling dizzy and nauseated and like we need someone to come to our house and take care of us.

I've been on the phone to folks at BAM, who say they'll see if there's anything at all they can do and then get back to me.

GAH.

I see it this way: Either we're going to go, and while we're there we'll cough a lot and not only disturb but also infect everyone, or they can refund my $120. The question is, can I drag myself out of the house so that I can get my $120 worth of infecting BAM employees? And if so, what is the price of revenge?
Ah, His Girl Friday is such a great movie. Watching it closely, you can see the genesis of countless movie/comedy memes. Rosalind Russell was the original (or at least a prototypical) fast-talking, wise-cracking dame. And it's interesting how damn feminine she is -- her ostensible, overarching goal throughout the movie is to get married, but her career as a 'newspaperman' keeps getting in the way. Lots of fertile ground for discussion there.

Sorry, can't help you with refunds or revenge.

it's one of my favorite movies. was super-psyched to see it on the big screen. maybe still am? can't tell, too confused by sinus muck.

also keep feeling my forehead. "do i have a fever? is it a fever? i think it's a fever."
