I don't know what's causing your issues, but I found this free online Microsoft Windows registry scan/cleaner the other day and it worked wonders on 2 of the computers here at work....whoa. A huge difference in speed. It found 5 trojans and 1 virus, and defragged, and cleaned out the registry. I didn't know about this service....maybe it's well-known to everyone else though?

Also, in IE, deleting the temp files every day makes a really big difference as well. It's like your browser is dragging every file, every image, all text and every app that you downloaded to your computer recently along with you every time you surf the web, so when you delete them everything usually gets a bit more peppy.

You need to slip the hamsters a little lettuce and some benzedrine. Honestly, they can't keep the browser running all the time on pellets alone. I find a can opener applied to the top of the monitor will open it up and reveal the hamsters nicely - just sprinkle a few fresh greens and black beauties into the hole.
