I will survive. (A special 30th Birthday party) →[More:]Three and a half years ago our darling Ali was diagnosed with malignanant melanoma. A mole on the calf was more sinister than anyone realised. Due to the spread to lymph nodes her survival was put at 20% after one year.
Well, she's been through the mill, treatment and surgery wise, excisions, lymph node clearance, interfearon, everything they could do. She faced it all with the smile you see in this photo.
She's quite simply the most beautiful individual I know, inside and out and I wasn't the only one of the 200 people who came to her 30th birthday who teared up to see her having an absolute ball.
Her boyfriend rented a Limo and gave a huge party in a Hotel in Dublin. The dancing went on until 3, and she didn't sit down once.
We have no idea what the future will bring as MM is one of the most unpredictable and agressive of cancers but when I feel a bit down I look at her photos and can't help smiling. She's my hero.
