It's the Year of the Rat ,Seol, and you be careful out there.[More:] Actually, i don't have more to say right now, except that i saw a rat yesterday (in a pet store) with the hugest scrotum. At least that's what i think it was; i can't think of what else it could be. Is that normal, large pink growths in tha area? Didn't seem right at all.
The good stuff comes later.

Clicking over to the USPS's current stamp offerings (apparently last year's Pig design is no longer available, what ever it was), I found this and immediately thought "Star Wars, Princess Leia"... I am so very sorry.

If you are born this year, you're an Earth Rat too.

Yep, eth, that was its scrotum. Male rats have HUGE balls. They drag on the ground when they are really old.

Yay rats! Here's my nominee to represent the year of the rat! (he's so dreamy!)

My youngest was born in the year of the rat. He just made it, as his birthday is in January. Officially he won't be 12 until next January.

Am I wrong for liking this song (and video)?: "The Year of the Rat".

No. People are gonna need a hug. It's true.
But i have used up all my magic hug power.

As a rat (astrologically speaking, anyway), does this mean that good things will happen to me in the coming year? Because I would like that.
posted by bmarkey 07 February | 19:23
I'm hoping for that too, bmarkey.

It's your chance to make the most of making it a good year for yourself. Optimally, you geared up to making it easier for yourself before now, but Happy Birthday, you are now 12, 24, 36, 48, etc. and you know what would make you feel better?
More Money.
Or whatever makes you feel least anxious and most secure.
Like More Money.

Or the opportunity to make more money, or more opportunity, to make more money, or more opportunity to--
or a spa.

Basically, you get to lay out a plan for your next twelve years, and as much fun as it is to sloth about, it's not the best thing for you as being active is the thing with rats. Projects, plans, what have you, it's your year, make the most of it.

*plans on winning the lottery*

Between the "Rat = go-go money person" thing and the "Capricorn = go-go money person" thing, you'd think that I'd be some sort of insanely wealthy business tycoon rather than the unambitious layabout that I am. I'm beginning to suspect that astrology is not always an exact science.

The bland generalities don't work so much; it's in the details.
Rats aren't into money so much as they are into the things money can give you, like things and a sense of security, etc.

Don't plan on winning the lottery.
Ever.
Luck is a bonus if you're lucky; don't ever plan on it. Plan despite it, good or bad.

Oh, believe me, I never plan on luck pulling me through.

If you were, say, a Metal Rat, i'd say the cynicism has gotten to you. Judgy Wudgy was a rat. You must know how to be objective and lighten up, after all, you do love the good food and pleasure. Don't let the curmudgeon get the best of you.
Can you check irc or email at work?
posted by ethylene 07 February | 22:44
Email is always good.

Actually, i bet Judgy Wudgy was a rooster, or even a snake.
The problem is they probably wouldn't realize it, because everyone thinks like them, eh?

I think a Rat year will be interesting. Looking forward to it with a wiggly nose.
