Radio b - Why You Wanna Be Like That? More or less two and a half hours or your life that you'll probably want back, starting at 11 AM Pacific (or just under an hour from when I post this).
For anyone who wants to jump in after I'm done, this show runs 2:35:04.

For the rest of you, a Super Fun Mystery Rock & Roll Trivia Question/Time Waster: I used to work with the wife of the guitarist for one of today's bands. Can you guess which group he played in? For bonus points: what's his name? For ultra-mega bonus points: what's her name?

And now, on with the show...

posted by gaspode 06 February | 15:03
Heh. I got this off of a Flying Nun compilation that I recently, uh, found somewhere.

Listening to Brad Mehldau is incredible, I've never heard him before. Wow!
posted by Wilder 06 February | 16:16
Yeah, I don't know that much about him myself. I first heard of him on a disc he did with Pat Metheny a couple of years ago. Here's his website.

Oh, and for those of you playing along at home, the answer to today's Super Fun Mystery Rock & Roll Trivia Question/Time Waster: back in the mid-80s, I worked with Theresa McGrath, wife of True West guitarist Richard McGrath.

You couldn't make this stuff up. Well, you could, but why would you?

Sorry I missed this. Brad Mehldau is indeed excellent, I use him to turn my classical music friends on to jazz.
