Anyone have any weekend projects to share? This weekend I am working on garden stuff. It's remarkably only 2ish months until our last frost, and I'm surprised at all the things I can plant now or in a week or so. I'm going to try to get some peas in today. Whee!

Meanwhile. I realized that I needed a way to get my seedlings started, and thanks to box, I think this one will do quite nicely.

But um, since it's in my bedroom and using full-spectrum "sunlight" bulbs, I'm a leeetle worried about how it might affect my sleeping.

I'm taking a break from projects this week. I spent all of January putting new cabinets and sink into the kitchen and I needed to just hang out for a weekend.

For months I have been wanting to clean, cull, and rearrange my living room and yesterday I finally did it. It looks slightly more grown up now that I have moved all the media, audio and computer bits, and guitars and stuff to one wall (which I am not showing you). I'm still on the lookout for a secondhand TV armoire, since I hate seeing the TV, but I want to keep it in the LR, mostly for watching my old movies.

I had a lot of fun deciding what to keep and then making little arrangments that I felt did them better justice. I finally hung this little Wild West Show triptych of sorts. The way this chair looks, with its new cover and these pillows, pleases me a lot. A nice home was given to this beautiful little vase, a recent gift. And this lamp looks very peaceful glowing on a pile of shells.

House projects are great - they're so hopeful. And having time - having time is wonderful.

What ej said. It looks eclectic and fun, but grown up too. I could hang out there.

I'm moving? Does that count?

Thanks ej and deb. It's still a bit grad-schooly, but on the other hand, buying new furniture is not that important for me right now. I just wish I could paint!

We put in peas and turnips and beets this past weekend, and emptied out a compost container full of deep-black, rich, beautitful fully-rotted kitchen scraps. We figure we might lose some of the newly-planted stuff to frost, but decided to take the chance on a few bucks worth of seeds, like we did last year. Spring is coming!
