A Picture Worth A Thousand Words The "nuns 'n' nudes" ad irks catholics, but beyond the shock value, the picture is quite intriguing. +Enlarge. [nude male butt alert]
"It says a great deal about this perverse obsession in both the fashion industry and the advertising industry of exploiting and mocking and sexualizing Catholic religious imagery," Doyle said.

If they didn't want Catholics to be made fun of, they shouldn't have dressed the nuns like penguins and given the pope such a silly hat.

Kidding. Mostly.

Has anybody consulted Sister Wendy on this? She dosen't seem to have problems seeing the boobies and tushies as art.

You know, to tell the truth, I always did find the sexualization of Catholic imagery a bit odd. Maybe it's because I grew up Catholic and, um, matured at a young age, so I got far more attention when out and about in my school uniform than was at all appropriate for an eleven year old.

But beyond that... how many nude statues does the Vatican own again?

I think if nuns actually wore that much makeup there'd be more catholics. Just sayin'.

I think the sisters have the right attitude. I think the complainers would be upset no matter what their religion.
