So I have now redesigned the fucking summer camp brochure FOUR TIMES. I started out with a tabloid sized sheet cut horizontally in half and then cleverly folded into four panels. No way. Too much text and also, then the necessary registration form becomes too small to use. Okay. So then I went to a legal size sheet folded cleverly into four panels. Still too much damn text. The font kept getting smaller. There was no way. So, fine, whatever, I went to a full tabloid sheet folded cleverly into, you guessed it, four panels. That was working out well UNTIL I PUT IT ON THE STUPID PLASTIC TEMPLATE THING THAT THE POST OFFICE GIVES YOU JUST TO CHECK THAT IT WOULD BE NORMAL POSTAGE, WHICH IT NATURALLY WOULD, RIGHT, BECAUSE IT'S A FUCKING TABLOID PIECE OF PAPER FOLDED INTO FOUR PANELS WHICH IS KIND OF STANDARD AND NOT LIKE I'M CUTTING IT ALL UP INTO WEIRD ASS SIZES OR DOING FUCKING ORIGAMI OR ANYTHING NOW IS IT? Yeah, it didn't fit. So now I'm redesigning it AGAIN as a tabloid sized sheet Z-folded into a three panel brochure. Which fits. ARGH! This thing is cursed.

*whuffles mgl* man mgl, I VIVIDLY remember going through that exact same bullshit the first time my x and I put out our first bike race series flyer. sponsors = paid postage so it wasn't like we had a "budget" or anything. rrrrr. I spent DAYS fussing with QuarkXpress trying to deal with it (er, and that should tell you how long ago this was, heh).

QUARKXPRESS IS THE DEVIL!

ALSO; EASY DESIGNS ALWAYS TAKE FOUR TO SIX RE-DO'S. AIM AT "HARD DESIGN" FROM THE BEGINNING FOR SOME EFFED UP REASON YOU NEVER HAVE TO RE-DO (OK; MAYBE 2 TIMES BUT THAT'S IT). IT*S LIKE A DESIGN MURPHY'S LAW OR SOMETHING.

YOU MIGHT TRY DROPPING THE REG FORM AND GOING TO PHONE/ONLINE RESERVATIONS SINCE AFTER THEY REGISTER THEY USUALLY HAVE TO FILL OUT BILLING PAPERWORK AND MED CONTACT FORM ANYHOW..WE TOOK OUR FORM OFF AND HAVE NOT MISSED IT EVEN A LITTLE BIT>>>MAYBE THAT WILL GAIN YOU NEEDED SPACE?

IT"S A GOOD SYSTEM BECAUSE IT GENERATES IT OWN RECORD VIA EMAIL. BUT HELL NO, NO ONLINE REG, THAT'S A NIGHTMARE!

BUT IN ANY CASE WE FOUND THAT ALL WE DID WITH THE MAIL-BACK FORM WAS CALL THEM FOR CONFIRMATION AND PAYMENT ANYWAY, SO WE DECIDED TO SKIP THAT STEP.
