I'm pretty new here at MetaChat and am still exploring the site/relating to MeFites here, so I don't expect my "vote" to sway anyone.

I second the suggestion. Not only because I'm curious about everybody's kitchen ("heart of your living space" aptly describes how I feel about kitchens), but also because I'm lazy and already have 35mm black & white images I made in my kitchen last semester.

On preview: I like ethylene's prompts, too.

There's not really vote and sway here, so much as do and say.

Speaking of which, i'm really tired of asking for some response on the Cooking with Metachat business. Since no one who has posting rights to it seems to do it any more, i've been wondering about making an affiliated page and adding recipes people post straight to the wiki. If any one else is into the idea, please go ahead and do the work, because i have a hell of a time trying to hunt up recipes people have posted anyway. Take the initiative and run or i may do it someday. This is both warning and invitation.

Oh...this is 2008. Never mind.

i just wanna put them on a linked wiki page but it would be easier if people who knew they posted recipes did it because they aren't easy to find, and easier to credit. i figured i'd do it some time i was on waiting on something, had online kill time, etc. There was a time when some people were awfully precious about the wiki, and it's hard to bother if someone is going to just get rid of something on a whim, but i think people should feel free to add new pages.

Okay, this is kind of funny... seanyboy and I and chrismear have been talking about this today*, and it looks like Chris is going to develop a cooking/recipe section for us here at metachat, which makes me very, very happy.

I had thought of the wiki, but it's just a terrible format for recipes. So hang on to your spatulas and your melon ballers, people - metachat will indeed be cooking! Feel free to bribe Chris with homecooked goodness, or empty promises of same.

I've put all the suggestions above, in slack-a-gogo's recent thread and the ones from the wiki on little pieces of paper in a plastic baggie. I have drawn the themes for the next four fridays from the baggie. They are as follows:

* January 25: My Kitchen, suggested by iconomy
* February 1: Sanctuary - A favorite place, a park, a cafe, wherever you go to relax/feel safe, suggested by seanyboy?
* February 8: Red/Blue, suggested by ethylene
* February 15: Something that amuses you, suggested by youngergirl44
