NOW it's Friday! What's up for the weekend, bunny pants?→[More:] It's weird, I don't really have any plans, other than the usual kind of stuff- dinners out, gym hopefully, brunch, church.
Tonight, we're planning on going to an exhibit opening at the Mattress Factory, a little museum in the neighborhood.
Tomorrow, hopefully putting a sink and counter in the kitchen. We've been without a kitchen sink for two weeks now, I really need to get that done. It's a serious stretch of my plumbing skills to figure this stuff out and a little scary working with a torch in a 138 year old basement but I'd like to eat at home again.
We'll probably try to catch There Will Be Blood too.
I was supposed to be going to my friend's birthday party in town, but I'm sick and kinda panicking about being ready for my trip (I leave in a week, not back 'til the end of March). Gonna finish off some overdue work, go through the still-packed box of clothes to see what I've got, make copious lists, figure out where I'm going to stay for my first night in Belize and book it. Right now, though, I'll probably go back to bed.
Today:
1. Day off work. Which makes for a 4-day weekend, woo!
2. Major errands to run. Food to buy, house to clean, dog to bathe, because...
Tomorrow:
1. Engagement party at our place! A few select friends are coming over early to help us make loads of pierogi, borscht and other yummy foods, then the rest show up and we eat, drink, and enjoy. Perfect for a day with a forecast HIGH temperature in the single digits, and wind chills near -20.
That's pretty much it. We've been invited to a brunch Sunday morning but I have a feeling we won't make it.
Gotta go to the store and the pharmacy, and take my pal Terry grocery shopping (him on the phone yesterday; "I just ate my last ham and cheese sandwich!").
Then, if the weather isn't too bad (snow in Alabama WTF!!!!???) maybe go see the Dexateens tonight at the Nick. But it's the Nick, so they won't go on until midnight or so, and that's right when the freezing rain and snow is gonna arrive. So I dunno. Saturday is for cleaning house, and Sunday is for watching football.
Nothing. Sweet glorious noting! I seriously cannot remember the last time we had a completely free weekend. I think it might have been September. I'm not joking.
Today: I really need to do laundry and clean up my room. I also need to shower at some point and do more napping.
Tommorow: Probably the usual, going with my mother while she buys random shit we don't need. And more sleeping
Sunday: I have to roll into work for a few hours, but it's all good because I'm going to be the only one there, so I can blast my tunes. Plus, I'm working on the holiday on Monday, which = more monies.
Oh, and I will be watching lots of Netflix- "Saved by the Bell" when I want to relax, workout videos when I want a little workout. I love the selection of things that can be watched instantly! Plus, I'm getting a DVD of Britney in concert- will be nice to remember the good old days...
It took me several tries to go see "There Will Be Blood" because it has been selling out. Don't know if it still is, but get tickets early if you can!!
Driving to Charleston to spend the weekend with the bf, thereby avoiding the next snow, planned for tomorrow apparently. We probably won't do much of anything at all: watch a movie or two, walk on the beach, drink beer, hang out - in other words, a perfect weekend.
As usual, we have nothing planned. Well, there's been some vague talk of hockey on Sunday, and I think Science Girl has to return some pants that she bought. That'll probably happen tomorrow. Other than that, it's pretty much open to whatever we feel like.
Tonight: Go to the gym, go out for a drink, go to a party.
Tomorrow: Gym in the morning, work all day, dinner with one of my best friends and her husband and three kids at The Cheesecake Factory (I got a gift certificate as a gift).
Sunday: Go to the animal shelter to inquire about fostering, go to the gym, maybe work.
I went to an advance screening of TWBB, and it was full. First time that's ever happened to me.
This weekend? Today I'm probably going to A's house later in the evening to drink a few beers, smoke a lot and play around with Cubase. Tomorrow, I work during the day, then, presuming there isn't actual ice on the ground, I'll probably go for a bike ride. I work Sunday and Monday, because I want the overtime, because I'm saving up for a large tattoo, or an Eee, or a large tattoo of an Eee, or maybe all three--haven't decided yet.
I was going to have a garage sale, but the weather is not cooperating. Very frustrating, because I want this shit out of my fracking house! I want to be able to move around and not trip or bump into something. Pain in the asterisk! Plus I need the money.
So instead I'll play with my boys, maybe teach them how to make cookies. Keep crocheting on my monster blanket, and read the thoroughly irritating book we have for Sunday School, "Spiritually Incorrect".
Laundry, bill paying, seeing if I can get a ticket to August Osage County for Tuesday ---(carmina, did you get my email?) Move glut-- why am I going to the John Ford series when I find him mawkish? One of the vile old men has started cursing at me. Mission of Burma tomorrow too...but I don't want to be near the slammers--is this the former Northsix? I remember there were bleachers then.
I saw TWBB this past week. I adore Daniel Day-Lewis, but this movie didn't really grab me. Eastern Promises, Diving Bell, Persepolis, Charlie Wilson's War, Juno, Away from Her more so (though I didn't like the excessive T&A in CWW--the long tracking shot of the woman's ass wasn't really necessary-- the scary punk/goth receptionist at the women's clinic in Juno (is that typical of indie clinics?) and the fact that she didn't have her own condoms for sex she planned in advance.
Gym tonight while the boy is out being D&D geeky, seeing Cloverfield with friends tomorrow, maybe I'll finally make those curtains. I have Monday off and will sleep in. I'm looking forward to that.
A very, very cheap bike, as I haven't ridden since high school and I don't want to invest too much in something that I don't know if I'll use a whole lot. It's a Schwinn beach cruiser. But it's pretty! Here is a photo: ≡ Click to see image ≡
Tomorrow: relaxing, sleeping and doing very little. Also: hot date. Yay!
Sunday: training for the London marathon! Still can't believe I'm doing it. 13.5 miles last Sunday, 8.5 on Wednesday and I hope to do 15 this weekend. It's for charity, but the rules here say we can't ask for money, so I can't link to my sponsorship page.
I don't know. Maybe I could say check my profile page if you're interested in a "I really, seriously am not asking you for money" manner. If that's too strong and I have to remove it, then just email me.
