What did you think of last night's Project Runway? (Spoilers) [More:]

I asked this in the last PR thread but no one answered - with regards to the dress Jillian made in the weight loss episode: Did she actually use any fabric from the original outfit? How did she not get disqualified? The judges were probably so blinded by the ugly from Steve's dress that they weren't able to think coherently.

About last night's show - I like Chris more and more every week. I hope he wins just because I like him so much. My favorite designs were Chris's extravaganza and Sweet P's elegant little grey dress.

Rami was a total ass. He shot down everything Sweet P tried to suggest. He never used the word "we" when he talked about the design. It was me me me I I I. I still think he's the best craftsperson but he irks me now. I'm starting to get personally involved.
I love Chris, love love love Chris. He MUST win, because of my love for him.

The black trim was from the pants, that was it.

I have NO idea. Sorry, thought someone else answered this before, otherwise I would have. :)

As for me, I'm watching it tonight unless my latest shipment of steels arrives, in which case I'll be doing that and saving runway for the weekend (no cable.... *ahem*), so no input just yet.

I so agree with this statment.

I basically agree with your whole post, iconomy. I am glad that Chris and Christian won. I thought their dress was amazing. I too like Chris more and more. Have you seen the snarky comments that Jack has been making about him? (ok that was only one link but there are others.)

I was sad that Kit went home over Ricky (*when* is he going to go?) but I guess that's the risk of being team leader.

Wasn't the start of Jillian and VictorYA's partnership full of passive aggression?

I love how Sweet P and Chris are growing. Now if they can develop some confidence. . .I understand that the leaders were on the block/got the glory, but it seems like Chris or Sweet P should have won and Ricky should have gone home. It is time for Crying Ricky to go. Loved Jilian/Vicyy's big dress, too.

I HATE the manufactured drama of team challenges. Contestants should win or lose on the merits of their design skills, not "works well with others" brownie points. That being said, Kit probably deserved to go home. (Ricky should have been cut long ago.)

I also hope Chris wins.

Me too! I also hate the challenges where they're designing for someone else- a person who lost weight, a mom, a teenager- enough! I want to see one person design something for a real model.

I detest when they spring the "oh btw you have one more look to design by tomorrow" type announcements on them. More manufactured drama. Just tell them upfront what the challenge is so they can best budget their time. They're already under a ton of stress, no need to add any more.

I really like Chris too, but I don't him to win, because he's clearly not the best designer.
But it sucks that Christian "won" for making that crappy thrown-together RTW outfit, and Chris did all the work.

Also, yeah, go home Ricky. I'm tired of looking at you. That said, I got in trouble with wifey for lamenting Kit's defeat, because she was a "good designer and cute to look at".

Best episode yet, it's finally getting interesting. But I kinda hate the team challenges. Also, they constantly urge time management just to throw in the last hours monkey wrench, and consequently we get to see rushed outfits on the runway. I want to see good stuff, not hurried garments.

What is the deal with Ricky and the constant crying, it is so annoying. I really liked Sweet P's dress and Rami has become a one note wonder. I think that is why they kept him because they (the judges) really want to see if he can do anything else besides drape fabric.
On a side note, I wonder if any of the girls actually wore the prom dresses to the prom.

hellbient - I also got a sideways glance from my wife for being upset at Kit's dismissal...

It's not prom season yet, so it's too soon to tell.

I'm really starting to hate Jillian for some reason. She's just so whiny. And she dresses like she raided my 9th grade closet and didn't bother to take the good stuff.

I think I could bear Ricky's crying more easily were he wearing different hats. I do not enjoy his taste in hats.

We passed Parsons when we were in NYC. Mr. rossi was surprisingly excited for someone who "doesn't really watch" the show and naturally started inquiring as to the whereabouts of Andrae.

After leaving my husband I spent about a month at my parents' house wearing pajamas and riding four-wheelers in the mud and watching their Dish Network, where I discovered my love for Project Runway. It's the only reason I still consider getting cable, but then last weekend I saw an ENTIRE EPISODE (the Hershey's one) posted on someone's tumblr account. Holy shit, I love the internet.

Ricky's hats are really bad. The first time I saw him with one I was like, "okay, well he's not going to wear one everytime". Damn if he hasn't. I especially hate those see-through ones.

Silly mr. rossi. Andrae's at Red Lobster with Tim.

Oh man. There's always so much to talk about by the time I get in here...

Rami
They keep Rami around because he drapes well and he made that killer candy dress which has been the overwhelmingly best thing made in stupid challenges all season. After watching the first season of Project Catwalk and seeing the tragic final elimination of Chris, I am more precarious about my original prediction of the constructor making it to the finals.

Although. Is Fashion Week four people these days?

Wackiness
Seconding any and all disdain for the ridiculous zany challenges.

Jillian
Please do not talk trash about my woman. She may have lost the coin toss, but she won the passive aggressive war.

Chris / Christian
Can we put aside our love for Chris and accept that these were both the same outfit Christian makes every week? It's just that one was slopped on top of Chris's monstrous construction.

So, let's paint Chris as a strategist here. His approach did two things... guaranteed getting through by riding the prodigy label and created such a loony caricature of Christian's weekly cliche that it's exposed to the brain dead judges. Time will tell, but I think Chris is playing for keeps... He knows how the judges roll, and he's going to try and ride it all the way to the bank.

Kit
They got a fun haircut and didn't have a bad idea. But then the result looked nothing like the vision they seemed to have. WTF? Good riddance, Kit. And to think I stood up for you!

Ricky
They're just torturing this guy by keeping him around. It's mean. Really mean. He continues to seem way out of his league, and I think he knows it but has to keep entertaining a delusion of winning. If I were on this show, in his position, I'd be frustrated too.

I know! The blouse of the dress was the same as the black blouse of the weight loss challenge episode. Same pin tucks, same placket....same same. Good eye!

Team Chris! Could not adore him more.

Ricky and his mesh caps and overactive tear ducts should have been gone weeks ago, though.

Ack, Chris and Christian together! It was like my most loved and most hated put together.

I'm really not sure why they keep Ricky around, he's shown little promise. Maybe he has blackmail material in the brim of his hats.

I too expressed sadness to my wife over Kit being dropped.

Victorya and Jillian (to me at least) are those people in class who keep getting good grades even though even knows their projects suck (though this week's wasn't as bad).

I just watched, and I was so pissed that he got to stick around. One of the things I hate about this show is that mediocre designers who are consistently in the bottom two get to stick around, while great designers like Kit who take risks get sent home.

SEND RAMI HOME. That guy is so annoying, and he treated My SweetPea like crap. I'm glad that she had the chance to prove she was a great and innovative designer.

JILLIAN: Was anyone else impressed that she could come in and knock out a great-looking dress in less than 2 hours, while the other contestants spent all day on a mediocre one? I don't get the Jillian hate (although I don't like Victorya that much - not cause of her style but because of her passive-aggressive shit).

Finally watched it. I'm liking Chris more as it goes on! Christian isn't really showing me this "prodigy" hype. Victorya irritates the hell out of me both attitude and style but she and Jillian made IMO the best look(s) this challenge. Jillian is okay. She's consistently turning out good stuff that I like okay. Ricky needs to GO. Just GO. Kit was interesting, but wasn't going to make it, and that dress was fug. SweetP I like, but what she does is pretty plain. That dress was the best I've seen from her (and under pressure too!) but she needs to get more exciting. Still, it was nice. And does Rami do anything but drape? BORING.

I think final four (if it's four) will be Rami, Jillian, Victorya, and Christian. I'd love to see Chris make it, but I think the judges just are bent on overlooking him, and the other four are judges' favorites. And I'm kinda grumpy about the final four thing because I would have loved to see all about Austin and Kara Janx in their seasons.
