Feelin' Lousy. [More:]Woke up this morning to find my car had been towed because the snow emergency wasn't over, like I assumed when I parked. This sets into effect a rather noticeable ripple through my cash flow, which I have been working hard to control. Nothing's making much sense lately, it seems like the wheels are spinning in place, and I'm feeling really down.

Just had to stop and say that for a second.
Aw man, that bites, Miko. *hug*

Aww, that sucks Meeks. It's not anywhere as bad as it seems. Of that I am certain. It's just one of those days, that's all. If the snow emergency isn't over, I can assume safely that there is a winter wonderland all around you. Maybe try and get out into that wonderland this afternoon and get your batteries recharged. You know how to see the good in the world, I'm pretty sure of that. Bummer about the negative cash flow all the same though. ((miko))

I hate that feeling. Things will turn around quicker than you expect.

These winter months make the world more surreal, that's for sure. And it sucks hard when one months unexpected bills impact into the future.

Here's hoping those wheels find purchase, and the world swims back into focus.

Damn, Miko that's crummy. I totally hear you on the cash flow sitch, that's a grinding annoyance, too. If you do get out, take some snow pics so us drought ridden southerners can see what water in any form looks like again.

Our cats send purrs and our dogs send tail wags. They always help! :)

Money is so shit, isn't it? *hugs*, Miko.

I hope it's just a post holiday let-down, winter blahs thing. The car thing just sucks. (hugs)

I woke up so anxious that I jumped right out of bed, which does not normally happen.

Something about this time of year, and weather (though here it's fog so thick that I can barely see out the windows), does often make every bad situation seem endless. I think it's growing up on the academic calendar, where January means that May just seems soooo faaaaaaaaaar awaaaaaaay. Right now it's hard to imagine a time when I won't be stressed out about the things I'm stressed out about, even though intellectually I know that time will come.

Sigh. Snow and fog are pretty, but I'm really just not a fan of winter. It makes everything seem harder than it should be. :-(

Bummer. Hang in there Miko, you'll turn it around.

OK, my cat is on my lap, and she just started snoring. I highly recommend a snoring cat to make you giggle again.

Fug. January is a very difficult $$ month all around, recovering from the X-mess. Towing would be the last straw ...

Yrrrr, Miko! Towed cars are not fun.

Miko, just do the next thing needed, and the next thing after that. Break it down into small steps. You'll get through this!

It TOTALLY SUCKS, though!

Aw, Miko, that sucks. It's a temporary problem, though, and one that's easy (if unpleasant) to fix. Could be worse, always. Just keep reminding yourself of that.

I'd hug you, but that would be the equivalent of dumping a bucket of snot on your upper body, and that doesn't really seem very comforting. So, here's a good-natured punch on the shoulder.

*thwack*

Ah, fuck the Man and his car towing evil madness! Rise up, opressed towees and January poor among us! Rise up and. . and. . oh hell, I never know what to do at that point. Sucks, hon - and to add insult to injury, they always tow cars to like outer Mongolia or somewhere impossible to find; you have to hire native bearers and fight your way through the piranha infested snow leopard tundra to get there. January bites. However it is eventually followed by May, so hang in there.

Thanks, all, for your support. Despite the snows and the tows and the cash ebbs and flows, there are some truly wonderful people in this world, all of you among them. I've had a couple really nice things happen today that remind me that the good in life outweighs the temporary setbacks and frustrations.

And it could be worse. Thanks for helping me get everything back in perspective.

Aw! So sorry, Miko -- I feel your pain! Last fall, I was in a nasty car accident that put it in the shop for nearly a month. The day I got it back, it got towed. For the first time ever. At the end of the work day. After having already paid close to $1000 for my insurance deductible and the car rental. One week after my boyfriend had gotten out of the hospital after having surgery to repair 7 sliced tendons in his arm.

On the way home (after a 2-hour odyssey and shelling out another $300), I called home and said "boy, use that one good arm you have to make me the strongest cocktail you've ever made in your life." Bless him, not only did he make me said cocktail, but he actually met me at the door with it in hand.
