Three-Question AskMeCha Okay, what are your three questions for Saturday? Here are mine:
[More:]
1. Where can I buy several nice-but-not-too-expensive suits in San Francisco? Need three or so before February (I'm third-chairing a two-week trial). Must I deal with Ross?

2. Is there a soda with good citrus-y flavor (lime or lemon) but not lots of sugar and no artificial sugar?

3. Where can I resell a brand new digital player from Humanware? I bought it for my kid but he's not using it, and I've gone beyond my 30 day return period.
I can only really chime in on #2.

We get the generic orange juice concentrate with extra calcium for the citrus cravings. Add a spritz of generic soda to that and you get the fizz, too. Seltzer (again, check ingredients), I'm told, has less sodium, as an alternate for fizz. Add your favorite adult beverage for variety.

If it's lemon or lime, instead of orange, just get the frozen *ades.

There may be some sugar, but check your labels. It's difficult to escape High Fructose Syrup in the US.

Re #1, how about Macy's?

1. Second hand stores or something like Loft or Banana Republic? It should be an investment of sorts unless you find that bargain at the Salvation Army.
Heck, give us your specifics and i bet some of us can do the shop around for you.

2. i bet someone knows the name of that place with all the best sodas and the owner who does know it all. i think i glanced by it on some cable channel program about soda. Seems like there'd be some freshy freshy drink from a small ginger ale/ custom soda place.

3. Maybe someone here wants to do swapsies? Otherwise, the usual online suspects as far as i know. Surprised there isn't some weird electronic consignment store out there.

Me:
1. Where's a good deal on a passable HEPA filter?

2. Has anyone any experience or knowledge on those allergy reducing shots or any mild asthmatic reaction help? (Point me at homemade bronchiodilators, whatever--)

3. Spend money on Photoshop? Really? Or finally get a half decent digital camera?

Bonus: name me some good floating foodstuffs.
The Bees seems to really like licking greens, or the water off them. Right now she has a baby spinach leaf floating in her water bowl. I don't know if she'll ever get to this point, probably too old for that, but maybe a little splashy splashy, but wonder if a few bobbing cranberries would help. She's been hanging out in the bath tub a lot. Maybe tub toys?

Bonus for you: Rabbit vs. Snake

One more question: Did black cats become considered bad luck because they have more dander? Just a thought.

You mean the filters themselves, or the appliance? I have a good air filter I never use, I could send it to you. You'd need to buy the filters, though.

Re #2: I loved the soda zitrones I had in Vienna---lemon juice, club soda, add your own sugar to taste ( I drank them without).

Mine.

1.Where's a competent primary care doctor in Manhattan?
2.Does any company sell 7.3 capacity condensation dryers in Europe? All I've seen on the UK sites are too small for my needs.
3.What would be a nice gift for a Salvedorian woman who is a devout Catholic?

Re #1, how about Macy's?

Hmm, those prices are lower than I thought ...

Really, Claudia? What would the shipping on that be and how much do filters cost? If it could possibly work out functionally and price compatibly, we'd still have to do swapsies on something. Is there something you want or need? Custom art in your choice of medium, perhaps?

If you were to custom make a soda like brujita's suggestion, you could always make your own syrup of sorts with fresh zest in honey, juice and soda water, and tinker around with it (crush of mint, hint of ginger, etc.)

brujita: re #3, online or in general?

It's a Holmes Air Purifier/Ionizer HAP-290. It's an older model so I can't find a picture of it.

The filters are kind of expensive (though they're probably cheaper at CostCo or a place like that). Here's one link with HAP-290 filters.

I could take it to a UPS store and get a price for shipping. Now that I think about it, it's about 10 years old, though I only used it for about 1 or 2 years. It's mostly sat on a shelf. So I would happily take art and feel that I got the better deal. :)

#2: There was a cool article in the NYT a couple months ago about homemade seltzers. You could flavor them any way you like.

Aren't those older ones kind of huge and heavy? It might be the price of shipping to get a newer one. i'm gonna look around first to save us the trouble, but if you still want art, email's in the profile.

Eth, in general-----she's one of the two decent people who've looked after my grandmother for the past thirteen years. The other was a lovely Filipina woman who retired.
