The Barnett Shale is a geological formation of economic significance. →[More:] So I live in Fort Worth which is over the Barnett Shale, perhaps "the largest onshore natural gas field in the United States." The mad rush to acquire mineral rights is on and I cashed in tonight. Yay me!

I leased the rights. They basically bribe the locals with these leases to shut us up when they put up a well in your 'hood.
