'Confessions of a Dangerous Mind' ...about Chuck Barris's career (according to his "unauthorized" autobiography) as a CIA hitman has been playing on IFC lately. It's on right now if you're in U.S. EST. Pretty mind-blowing, especially if you grew up watching the Gong Show. →[More:]

I just watched Brad Pitt and Matt Damon in cameos as losers on the Dating Game. I guess you can swing that if you're the director and also George Clooney, which is the case.

It's an intense, well-done and scary film. I recommend it. It could possibly be more frightening if it were Kermit the Frog as a Mafia enforcer. No, wait--it's really just about the same thing.

I was always wigged out when Jamie Farr was a judge. he wore a tuxedo. he should've worn either fatigues or an evening gown.

I've seen it for times. Great movie. The final scene with the real Chuck Barris is really tough to watch.

Yeah, great movie. Well done. Chuck Barris is a hero of mine.
Here's a clip of Sam Rockwell as Barris. Good. Stuff.
I remember in the DVD extras some amazing scene that looked like a post-production edit, but it was all part of the set. I wish I could find it on YouTube.

Naaaaah. Chuck Barris, creator of the Gong Show and the Dating Game other TV romps, would never make something up for entertainment and profit purposes.
;-)

Fiction or truth or a hybrid, it's good stuff. Scary thing is, really, that I could see most of it being true, easy.
