1. I have gained a few pounds and they WON'T GO AWAY. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, and it's really frustrating me.

There is no such thing as the best actor/dancer/director ever. Everyone has their strengths.

This guy was the best I've ever seen at audience participation. He sat on laps, ate of plates, drank out of glasses, and never got a complaint. They LOVED him.

He was also a State Teacher of the Year in VA, so I'm sure it will be another story, and people in their ignorance, will question. One never knows what goes on behind closed doors.

Also, he married his high school or college sweetheart, despite being gay. It took a good ten years for him to come out. Again, I fear the judgement there.

I have visions of a naughty turtle throwing things around in a temper.

1. Just got back from the vet AGAIN. Cat went in on Saturday for an infection, got some liquid antibiotics, but the last time he ate was midday Friday. Our housecall vet wanted me to take him back in to the vet we went on Sat. The infection is better, the wound looks good, no fever, but he's jaundiced, due to lack of eating. They gave me a scrip for an appetite stimulant and wanted to do $83 worth of bloodwork, but I deferred the bloodwork, which would have confirmed that the jaundice was from lack of eating and not from other liver probs. I told them I make such decisions with my own health care. So we'll see if he eats now. A sick pet is one of life's stressors. I can only imagine how horrible it would be to have a kid with significant medical problems.

2. It's warmed up and raining.

3. Wife and Daughter are always clashing, due mostly to wife's inability to pick her battles. On the other hand, Daughter is willing going with Wife to AZ next month, to "be her sanity" while she visits her sister. Wife is curiously unwilling to take much parenting coaching from me. . .*smile*.

danf - try a jar of baby food (meat, turkey maybe) on the kitty. It can perk up an appetite. Or tuna juice/water (not the meat, it can lead to bathroom problems) from a can of tuna.

Update. The cat is over the infection. The vet prescribed an "appetite stimulant" which turns out to be a human antidepressant, so I paid $5 at a human pharmacy for 2 pills, and got two pages in small type about the possibility of increased suicide thoughts. Had to cut a very tiny pill into 1/4. But the cat is eating now. I got a piece of cooked chicken from the market and that did the trick.

Now, since we stopped the liquid antibiotic after 5 days, I am a tad worried about infection returning, so watching like a hawk.
