Jeffrey Tambor Fanclub Powers ACTIVATE! WP blogger columnist quote: "the Jeffrey Tambor of the TV talk show circuit", referring to Dr Phil. Clearly she means to only point out they look the same, but instead she implies that Jeffrey Tambor is like Dr Phil, a huckster.

I have to say with total honesty that I've never really given the existence of Jeffrey Tambor much consideration one way or the other. I'll have to start paying more attention ;)

When I was in Costa Rica last month I had to take a taxi to the nearest airstrip which was in Tambor. Everytime I'd see a sign or billboard with Tambor on it I'd think to myself "Hey Now" and sort of chuckle. The taxi driver must of thought I was loco gringo. Now I am thinking Arrested Development was taken from us too soon.

Jeffrey Tambor is an actor. He plays characters that are not at all like himself, assuming that he is more honest than George Bluth and less clueless than Hank Kingsley. Therefore, I took the reference to meaning that Dr. Phil is an actor, not really a doctor, just playing one on TV.
