A little jazz funk for Sunday [More:]
I've always thought Randy Crawford is underrated as a jazz vocalist. In the UK she was widely marketed as a 'soul' singer, and she had some huge hits with ballads such as 'Rainy Night in Georgia' and 'Almaz'.

I always loved her jazzier songs more, the best known of which was her collaboration with The Crusaders - 'Street Life'.

But this - another Crusaders collaboration - is, I think, by far a better song, I love the way it builds until by the end you know she is really, really angry with the guy.

Last Night At Danceland

From the same great album, her take on Holiday's "Tell me more and more and then some" was awesome, but that whole thing works so well cos Joe Sample is one of the piano greats. YMMV.
