So Bonita is off the table→[More:] She's either been adopted or... well, let's just think of her as adopted.
If we can get some time, though, Mrs. Doohickie and I may head over to the Humane Society this afternoon. I'm hoping that just getting her there will sell her once and for all on the idea of getting a cat. When I was there myself just a short while ago, Paisely made it clear she has chosen me. Also, Heidi is very nice. I hope that later today I wil haz a kitteh.
If Paisley were orange and white rather than orange and black, she'd look strikingly like my childhood cat named Paisley. (Who was a skinny, squalling, looney goofball of a cat with a bucketful of anxiety, but I loooooooved her).
When we got there, Paisely was off the table too! Minutes before got there, she was adopted. Good for her, not so much for me.
However, Heidi was still available. She rubbing her ears on me as I write, doing that contented meow-purr that cats do. One more hurdle we need to get past though: My wife's sister is named Heidi so we want to name the new cat something different. I CAN HAZ A NAME?
The dog hasn't gotten close enough. We tried to arrange a sniffing but the dog just kind of didn't get into it. The cat was mildly annoyed and nothing more.
A suggestion for the cat's name. Cats respond best to a two-syllable name that ends in 'y' or 'ie', with an 'ee' sound. I don't know why that is, it just is.
As she's a tabby, and she has the tabby 'M' mark on her forehead, how about Emmie?
